Mar. 16, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China will look for overseas companies to participate in the research and development (R&D) of its jumbo jets, the People's Daily reported, citing a senior official from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) as saying.
Zhang Hongbiao, Director of the Science and Technology Committee for AVIC, said that the R&D of the home-grown jumbo jets will integrate independent development with international cooperation.

The project, which is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, will cost more than RMB 1 billion. It covers a land area of 44,400 square meters and has a potential floor area of 123,200 sq m.
